And I don’t really have to do anything other than issue a click or two, and I can have a new computer setup to code just by installing and updating Netbeans. No more tarballing (zipping), no more FTP, no more USB sticks, no more CD backups unless crucial. If that happens, I think losing a few days code will be the least of my worries. Oh, and my server host and Gmail would have to all suffer losses too, because I have cpanel email daily backups of everything. Then my live server would have to crash, because I upload to live pretty regularly. So now to lose much code I’d have to lose my work computer, lose my home computer, and Sun would have to suffer major data loss. The extra difficulty is only with multiple developers and resolving conflicting files - as one programmer you don’t have to worry about it. When I get home I can get fully updated and be ready to work in just a few minutes with a quick opening of the Kenai (or Subversion) panel and choosing “Checkout”.
